These terms apply to the PassCheck Photo app and this website. By using PassCheck Photo, you agree to them.
What PassCheck Photo is
PassCheck Photo is a software tool that pre-checks photos you take against published US passport and ID photo specifications, and generates export files (a 2x2 photo, a 4x6 print sheet, and a digital file) from photos that pass the pre-check.
Pre-check only — no guarantee of acceptance
- PassCheck Photo is a pre-check tool, not a government service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the U.S. Department of State or any government agency.
- A "Pass" result means your photo measured within the published specifications at the time of the check. It is not a guarantee that a government agency will accept your photo or your application. Only the U.S. Department of State (or the relevant issuing authority) makes that decision.
- Photo requirements can change. You are responsible for confirming the current requirements for your application before you submit.
Purchases
- The pre-check is free. Export features are unlocked by one-time purchases: Single Photo Pack (US $7.99) and Family Pack (US $9.99), as described on the pricing page.
- These are one-time payments, not subscriptions. Nothing auto-renews, and there are no recurring charges.
- In-app purchases are processed by Apple and are also subject to Apple's terms. Website purchases are processed by our payment provider.
- Refunds are handled as described in our Refund Policy.
Your photos and your responsibilities
- Your photos are processed on your device and are not uploaded to us (see the Privacy Policy). You keep all rights to your photos.
- Use the app only with photos of yourself or of people who have given you permission (for example, your children).
- Do not use PassCheck Photo to create photos for fraudulent documents or to misrepresent identity. Submitting a photo to a government agency is your responsibility, and the information in your application must be truthful.
- The app deliberately does not alter faces or backgrounds. Do not combine its exports with editing tools to digitally alter a photo you intend to submit, as alteration can make a photo unacceptable.
Breach of these terms — suspension and termination
- If you breach these terms — including using a photo to create fraudulent documents, or using another person's photo without their permission — we may refuse, suspend, or terminate your access to PassCheck Photo and this website, in whole or in part, with or without notice.
- We may also withhold or remove exported files generated from photos involved in the breach, and deactivate purchases or redemption codes connected with it. To the extent permitted by law, amounts paid in connection with a breach are not refundable.
- Suspension or termination does not limit any other rights or remedies available to us, and we may report suspected document fraud to the relevant authorities.
Availability and liability
- We provide the app and website "as is" and work to keep the pre-check aligned with current published specifications, but we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability arising from your use of PassCheck Photo is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for decisions made by government agencies, including application delays or denials.
Changes
We may update these terms; the current version will always be posted on this page with its date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
